Hi! I’m Gretchen. I’m a writer and content strategist.
My goal is to solve business problems.
I prefer to stay behind the curtain — operating all the secret buttons, knobs and levers that make your brand magic.
But since you clicked on About, I guess you want to learn more about me, so here goes!
My first love was Spanish. When I saw a poster of the Alhambra on the wall of my freshman language classroom I thought, “I hope someday I’ll go there!”
I did end up going to Spain. My junior year in college I studied abroad at the University of Madrid and fell in love with the language and culture. Learning how to think in a foreign language gave me new ways to approach communication. I learned that vocabulary is important but so is tone, context and intention.
At the same time I got my Bachelor’s in Spanish, I also pursued a degree in Education. I had a natural talent for making things relevant to students. And if I’m honest, the idea of summers off was very appealing.
I received my Master’s Degree in Education with a focus on English as a Foreign Language. But I was restless and couldn’t think of settling down as a teacher.
As a bus tour guide for senior citizens I traveled the country (and always kept an eye out for dangerous curbs). I loved connecting with people and exploring all the picturesque places in America.
This picture was taken at the watch party for my Wheel of Fortune appearance. So many amazing friends and coworkers came out to support me (and eat nachos).
I won over $12,000 that day and I solved more puzzles than the other contestants … I’d love to solve your puzzles too.
